Fresh everything and two kinds of cheese create a hot-rodded version of an offering by the Dry Creek General Store in Healdsburg. The star of the show, however, is the sprinkling of cured black olives that adds intensity and counterpoint to the other ingredients. Turn it up a notch by adding sliced avocado.
Cut a six-inch section of the loaf, then slice horizontally to form the two halves.
Lay sliced bread open face on plate and cover both sides with a thin layer of greens.
Cover one side with a layer of cream cheese (about ¼ inch deep).
Finish that side with olives and tomato.
Top the other side with three slices of pepper jack.
Finish that side by covering with sliced pickles and bell pepper.
Lightly dust both sides with black pepper.
